We've visited Knauf Insulation's new factory - under construction in Malaysia

Eco Insulation supports the Insulation Association

Eco Insulation supports the Insulation Association's recent announcement encouraging landlords and property managers to start the process of insulation in their rentals. Over half of rental property assessments are not meeting the new Residential Tenancy Act guidelines according to IAONZ. The Insulation Association of New Zealand (IAONZ) is encouraging all landlords to have their insulation assessed and installed to comply with new Tenancy Act amendments before the winter cold sets in. 1 July 2019 is the date that rental homes will require floor and ceiling insulation however all new tenancy agreements will now require a Statement of Insulation.

Installing on The Block

We have been installing the Earthwool Glasswool range of faced underfloor at The Block houses in Sandringham, Auckland. These villas will benefit greatly, not only from the thermal improvements of underfloor insulation, but also the added benefit of the 'windwash' barrier, minimising uncontrolled airflow through leaky floors - typical in older tongue and groove flooring.

Working with EcoConstruct

Following a fantastic design and performance plan by the owner: Russell Baillie, we have been involved in one of the highest performing homes in Auckland. Baillie Eco-Home is a new family home in Mt Eden. At the design stage there were two requirements that needed to be met - achieve 10-star Homestar rating and be wheelchair friendly. "We wanted the house to be super healthy, warm and as sustainable as possible", said Russell Baillie, Baillie Eco-Home owner. "We also wanted to ensure no space heating would be required during a 'normal' winter". The Knauf Insulation range of products, including ClimaFoam XPS and Earthwool glasswool were supplied and installed by the Eco Insulation team.
