ecoslab®

Slab Edge Insulation

ecoslab® is a system for slab edge insulation that assists in minimising heat loss, improved comfort, and also assists in attaining Homestar™ points.

What is it?

ecoslab is a system to deliver a protected slab edge continuous insulation in one process. It includes the core insulation (Climafoam XPS) together with sealant and protective durable outer render to withstand the rigours of the external ground placement.

Completing the thermal envelop delivers gains in;

  • Energy efficiency
  • Performance of underfloor heating systems
  • Comfort for the building users
  • Reducing the risk of structural decay due to moisture/condensation buildup at the bottom plate.

  • Continuing Climafoam XPS insulation under the slab further improves overall performance.

    ecoslab provides a minimum R1.0 value for all face sizes. Improved performance for 140mm wall frame construction

    PRE Install

    For installing against the boxing prior to slab pour;

  • Standard components for slab heights; 200mm, 230mm, 300mm and 400mm
  • Pre-formed reinforced continuous insulation outside corners
  • Rugged joiners and concrete fixing system
  • Can be painted any colour once installed.
  • 140mm framing and 90mm framing options

  • ecoslab will key to concrete slurry. Care must be taken to ensure hold-down bolts are designed, and building consents obtained prior - for fixing to maintain required cover. Note, the edge is be protected throughout the building cycle. Touchup kits are available.

    POST Install

    For installing in new construction after boxing stripped and external cladding installed, or as a retrofit improvement to existing slabs;

  • Standard components for exposed slab heights; 200mm, 230mm, 300mm and 400mm
  • Pre-formed reinforced continuous insulation outside corners
  • Supplied with high-performance adhesion system
  • Can be painted any colour once installed.

  • ecoslab® post install will adhere best to a clean and roughened concrete face. Care must be taken to ensure ventilated cladding cavities are not closed.
