Tell me more about Ground Vapour Barriers?

What does it actually do?

Moisture in the ground under your house can rise up and then condense on the underside of your floor. The GVB is designed to inhibit that transfer of moisture from the gournd and to the underside of the house.

Why is moisture under my house a problem?

Moisture/water can be absrobed by floors constructed from wood. The moisture can, over time, cause moisture to enter the house and also cause structural deterioration of the timber.

What is GVB?

High grade black polythene.

What is the Warranty?

Ground Vapour Barrier when installed in accordance with NZS 4246, together with normal maintenance, will continue to satisfy installation requirements for not less than 5 years.
