Our business has grown and developed since created in 2000. In March 2011 the company changed ownership and is now set for its next phase of rapid growth. Our business is focused around "planet friendly" solutions including the thermal envelope and heating, with more developments in plan. The systems we have in place are based around sustainability and triple bottom-line performance – the bottom line being environmental, economic and social.

Overview
A privately owned New Zealand company, Eco Insulation Ltd was born out of a desire to find environmentally friendly insulation products for New Zealand buildings.

Under the EECA Warm Up New Zealand: Heat Smart Programme, if your home is cold, damp or draughty, and built before January 2000 you could be eligible for an update insulation and heating to your home making it snug and healthier all year round. As well as being cost-effective, our products comply with all necessary appropriate specifications, standards and statutes.

Homeowners with houses built before 2000 are eligible.

What is the funding for?
Funding can be used to install
- Ceiling and underfloor insulation, up to a required standard (please note, if you can access the space, you have to get both ceiling and underfloor insulation done to qualify for funding).
- A clean, efficient heating device in the primary living space, if it does not already have a heating device that meets current standards (please note - you are only eligible for funding towards clean heat if you have proper insulation first - your service provider will be able to tell you if you qualify).
- The following energy efficiency measures where necessary: a hot water cylinder wrap, pipe lagging, draught-stopping and a ground moisture barrier.

Snug Homes is a joint initiative of ASB Community Trust, Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), Counties Manukau District Health Board, Auckland District Health Board and South Auckland Health Foundation. Improving the energy efficiency of homes by installing insulation provides a number of health and financial benefits.

What is it?
Ecofleece® is available in two product options - natural or recycled. Natural Ecofleece® consists of 100% virgin New Zealand sheep's wool blended with up to 40 % Polyester, whereas Recycled Ecofleece® consists of coloured sheep's wool sourced from New Zealand wool product manufacturers. Recycled is approximately 2/3 the cost of natural. Ecofleece® complies with the insulation standard AS/NZS 4859.1.

Supplied as a blanket ready to roll out over ceiling joists or fitted under or between floor joists, rolls are cut to length when fitting to wall framing cavities. Special runs can be manufactured to order a roll width of up to 2 m is possible.

Identifying it
Natural Ecofleece® insulation is white in colour. Recyled Ecofleece® insulation is grey. Individual Ecofleece® packs are labelled to identify the specific R-value, coverage per pack in m2, material width, unit number or length of material, nominal thickness, minimum weight and date of manufacture.

Ecowool® is white when manufactured from new natural wool and grey when manufactured from recycled wool. Typically, recycled Ecowool® is 60% of the cost of new wool material.

How much do I need?
The insulation provided by Ecowool® depends on the thickness of the installed product. Typical coverage rates for given R-values and density are set out in spec sheets (hot link). Eco Insulation will provide a written installation certificate giving the installed thickness and density.

What is it?
Ecohush sound control is a soft thermally bonded wool/ polyester blended blanket cut to suit most required spacing. There are no adhesives or chemicals used in the manufacturing process. Ecohush is nonirritant, user friendly and is designed to greatly reduce unwanted noise in the home or commercial environment.

What is it?
Is a product that comprises of high density 100% polyester fibres, and is friction fixed between the underside of the floor joists. The polyester is non-irritant, non-allergenic, toxic free, easy to handle and install and adds a thermal resistance to the underside of the floor. This makes it the ‘Ultimate’ in underfloor insulation.

Application
Thermal Insulation applied to the under-floor of residential and commercial application to give thermal resistance, as well as adding sound control by reducing reverberant noise.

What is it?
Ecosleeve™ cylinder wrap is an aluminum foil laminated to one face of recycled wool or polyester fleece insulation material specifically designed for wrapping electric hot water cylinders to reduce heat loss from the stored water.
이코슬리브는 한쪽면은 알루미늄 호일로 코팅되었고 한 쪽면은 재활용 양모나 폴리에스터로 재작되었으며 집안에 설치되어있는 온수통으로부터 열의 손실을 줄일 수 있도록 특별히 재작되어진 재품입니다.
A special reinforced flame retardant foil is used. Ecosleeve™ complies with the insulation standard AS/NZS 4859.1. Ecosleeve™ cylinder wrap is able to be installed without the need for protective clothing or equipment.
Ecosleeve™ cylinder wrap is supplied as a 1250 mm wide by 3000 mm long roll material ready to be cut to length to fit to suit the diameter of the water cylinder.

Identifying it
Ecosleeve™ cylinder wrap is silver in colour. Ecosleeve™ cylinder wrap is installed with the fleece material against the wall of the hot water cylinder. Individual packs are labeled to identify the product.
이코슬리브의 색깔은 은색입니다. 실린더랩의 안쪽은 이코플리스로 되어 있어 온수통을 감싸게 되며 각각의 제품은 그것을 식별할 수 있는 라벨이 부착되어집니다.
Dimensions
Ecosleeve™ cylinder wrap is supplied in 1250 mm widths (1200 mm foil and insulation with 50 mm foil overlap) to suit standard hot water cylinders.
이코슬리브는 온수통에 맞게끔 1250mm 넓이로 제공되어집니다.(1200mm 는 온수통을 감싸며 50mm 끝부분은 이중처리)
The length of roll is 3000 mm, equal to the cylinder circumference plus 200 mm overlap and the diameter of the cylinder (to allow for the capping piece). For taller cylinders, additional length (equal to the cylinder circumference plus 200 mm) must be ordered to ensure the cylinder walls are fully wrapped.
롤의 길이는 온수통의 둘레와 같은 3000mm 이며 추가 200mm 를 이중처리하게 집니다. 또한 높이가 높은 온수통의 경우 추가로 설치를 하게 되며 확실하게 온수통을 감쌀 수 있도록 처리하게 됩니다.
Where it can't be used?
Ecosleeve™ cylinder wrap is only suitable for use with electric storage hot water cylinders.
